In modern European societies appears strongly the activation of citizens in many initiatives of common utility, like the Not Governmental Organizations (NGOs).In turn, the EU attaches an increasingly important role to NGOs, since it counts on these for the implementation of policies both within and outside its borders.

The Hellenic Regional Development Center is an NGO which serves the public interest by pursuing initiatives for regional development via the support of local investment activities, for the promotion of lifelong learning through counselling, the transfer of knowledge using modern applications and the guarantee of social cohesion in a Europe that is constantly in the process of economic and political integration.
