GUTE

GUTE, Guidance for Those in Employment is a Leonardo da Vinci – Transfer of Innovation project, which has started in December 2008 and will be officially completed in November 2010.

The overall aim of the project is to encourage employers to take up training and education by providing them access to advice and guidance within the workplace. Moreover, there are three main objectives of the project:

  • The first and major aim is to further develop the innovative methods for careers guidance available to employers from previous project GM1 (Guidance Merger 1) in 3 new partner countries: Hungary, Spain and Greece. The project will introduce the methods and models developed in Guidance Merger 1. This means transferring the skills consultants and guidance workers have developed in establishing partnerships and cooperation with employers.
  • The second objective will be to add value to the original work by transferring other innovative practices between partner countries. The project will address the need of additional training for guidance counsellors to work with those in employment by focusing on examples of good practice.
  • The third objective will be to transfer innovation between partner countries about how guidance counsellors can further their role by offering validation and the accreditation of prior learning within the workplace.

The project will contribute to the higher level of guidance provision in the countries involved and it will improve the quality and the cooperation between institutions involved in delivering lifelong learning strategies.
