PILIP

Putting informal learning into practice

PILIP is the network of 11 partners with different backgrounds from 5 different countries, set up join effort to improve informal learning conditions. The objective of the project is to combine existing knowledge and experiences in the field of informal learning and to transform this information into practical tools to promote informal learning and lifelong learning. This reinforces the quality of current informal learning and ensures the improvement of skills, employability, mobility and selfesteem of the employees involved. The project is primarily aimed at improving learning conditions of lower-skilled workers in production environments, but the results may also be useful for any organization to promote informal learning.

 

Specific objectives of the project are:

The project aims to:

Gather existing theoretical knowledge about informal learning;

  • Identify existing knowledge and experience of informal learning in various European countries;
  • Adapt the theoretical knowledge and practical experience to the Dutch situation; 
  • Transform this knowledge and experience into practical tools that can help to promote, facilitate and validate informal learning in organizations.

 

The project thus results in a toolbox that is based on best practices from various organizations from different European countries. The toolbox consists of practical guidelines for the implementation of (elements of) informal learning in the workplace. The project is co-funded by the Leonardo Da Vinci programme.
