"Total Live Performances" project Press Conference was held in Athens on July the 24th, 2012, at 12:30p.m., at Medousa Hotel conference room, 4 Evripidou str., Kallithea, conducted by Hellenic Regional Development Center (HRDC)
Through the creation of an international Conference in memory of the figure of Richard Wagner at the bicentenary of his birth, the project intends to deepen the experience of the Theatre of Bayreuth and is dedicated to an idea of “total” theatre, interdisciplinary, where dance is a unique amalgam of music, song, mime and acting and at the same time is intertwined with painting, design and visual arts.
The total theatre is a theory developed by the German composer (May 22, 1813 – February 13, 1883) who, for this purpose, designed and erected in 1876 the theatre in Bayreuth.
The project is addressed to directors, authors, musicians, choreographers, composers, dancers, actors, mimes, painters, designers, artists, technical directors and professionals from different European countries, that will work together based on dialogue, comparison, research and experimentation, creativity and innovation.
Four European partners i.e. Teatrotesi from Italy, Hellenic Regional Development Center (HRDC) from Greece, Authentic Art from Romania, Community Cultural Centre “Slavyanska Besseda 1880” from Bulgaria, have already met in Rome on 26th and 27th of June 2012 where it was decided the title of the performance to be “The First Hour”, divided in 4 unities as follows: 1) The Birth of the Art – Water, assigned to Greece 2) The Fight – Earth, assigned to Italy 3) The Rise, The Achievement – Fire, assigned to Bulgaria 4) The Fall, The End – Air, assigned to Romania.
A Press Conference was held in Athens on Tuesday the 24th of July 2012. The project and the idea and concept of “The First Hour” was introduced to the public.
Directors chosen of the partners participated and exchanged their ideas on the realization of the project.
The next meeting will take place in Costanza, Romania, where a workshop will take place from the 29th of August to the 4th of September in order to set up the artistic performances.
